Agriculture and Forestry - Timber Carts

Log truck is a kind of forest harvesting and transportation machinery . It is a self-propelled lifting machinery equipped with forks, jaws and other grippers on the chassis of vehicles or tractors to shovel or grab wood. It is used for loading and unloading wood, sorting, selecting materials and on-site transportation; after replacing the working parts (such as replacing the jaws with buckets), it can also be used to build forest roads or transport bulk materials on construction sites ; after replacing it with a bulldozer, it can be used for bulldozing operations.

The log truck is mainly composed of an engine, a transmission system, a steering system, a braking system, a traveling device, a frame and a working device . The frame of a wheel loader is hinged by two parts, the front and rear. The working mechanism is installed on the front frame, and the cab and the engine are installed on the rear frame. The engine is generally a diesel engine.

Most of the wheeled power transmission systems are hydraulic mechanical, and there are also hydrostatic transmissions. The engine drives the three oil pumps for working, steering and speed change through the gear transmission of the torque converter. The pressure oil is led to the full hydraulic steering system composed of the hydraulic steering gear and the steering cylinder through the oil pipes in the cavity of the front frame, as well as the hydraulic system of the working parts.

The hydraulic steering system consists of an upper oil distribution valve and a lower planetary rotor pump. When the steering wheel is manipulated, the rotor pump discharges a certain amount of oil into the steering cylinder, pushing the piston to move and turning the wheel. The crawler transmission system inputs the power of the engine into the rear axle through the clutch, transmission, and drive shaft to rotate the drive wheel and make the crawler run.

Modern crawlers are also equipped with a hydraulic torque converter and a power shift transmission to improve the running performance. The crawler loader turns by braking one side of the crawler to make the whole machine turn around that side. The hydraulic system of the working device, including lifting the crane arm, turning the rocker arm and connecting rod, and turning the jaw (gripper), all has its control devices installed in the cab.
